Behind every Ocean Seacrest is someone who has chosen to make it part of their own journey.

Today, we’re delighted to share the story of Rafael Bazan Jr, one of our most loyal collectors. Since purchasing his very first Ocean Seacrest in the summer of 2022, Rafael’s collection has grown to five Escudo watches.

We recently asked Rafael to reflect on what first attracted him to Escudo, what has kept him coming back, and what the brand means to him today. We’re honoured to share part of his journey with you.

“I am a great fan of the Escudo brand, its people, and the amazing Ocean Seacrest.”

“I initially fell in love with the Ocean Seacrest because of its classic diver design, which doesn’t directly pay homage to any of the typical luxury brands. Instead, it possesses a unique and unmistakable DNA.

Escudo’s identity is rooted in the early marine explorations of Portuguese and British sailors and, as someone with Portuguese roots, that heritage immediately pulled at my heartstrings.

Beyond its distinctive design, I discovered a watch that offers robust specifications, immaculate engineering and machining, incredibly precise tolerances, exceptional quality and outstanding value.

If all of that wasn’t enough, there is also the team behind Escudo. Their passion for the watch industry is evident in everything they do, and they consistently deliver world-class customer service, backed by one of the strongest warranties in the industry.

My journey with Escudo began in the summer of 2022 when I purchased my very first watch: the Preto.

The longer I wore it, the more I appreciated the thoughtful details that make the Ocean Seacrest so special—from the precise bezel action and hidden crystal hologram to the clever engineering found throughout the watch.

My appreciation for the brand continued to grow as new models were introduced.

Today, I am the proud owner of five Escudo watches: Preto, Silver Rose, Casco Burst, Azul and Atlantic Sky.

My favourite?

All of them!

Each has its own personality, yet every one carries the same unmistakable Escudo DNA that first attracted me to the brand.

The latest additions to the collection, including the Violet Haze, Burnt Horizon, Preto Eclipse and Midnight Emerald, are all incredibly tempting, with the Burnt Horizon being my personal favourite.

I’m genuinely excited to see what comes next. Although I don’t know what’s on the horizon, I’m confident that whatever Escudo creates next will be every bit as special as the watches that came before.

No matter how fabulous a watch may be, at the end of the day, it’s the people behind the brand who ultimately define it.

Simon Correia and Richard Johnson, together with the rest of the team, have consistently provided the highest level of customer service while making me feel like part of the family.

That is something I deeply appreciate and value.

It’s the reason I’ll remain a proud member of the Escudo family—and undoubtedly the reason I’ll keep coming back for more.”
